Tox Aftercare Guidelines

Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and effective way to smooth fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing targeted muscles. Following these aftercare instructions will help optimize your results and minimize any potential side effects.

Post-Treatment Instructions

• Upright Position: Remain upright for at least 4 hours after treatment.
• Avoid Pressure: Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours.
• Avoid Makeup: Avoid applying makeup for 6-8 hours post-treatment.
• Gentle Exercise: Avoid strenuous physical activity for 24 hours.
• No Alcohol or Smoking: Avoid alcohol and smoking for the first 24 hours as these can increase the risk of bruising.

Expected Side Effects

It is normal to experience mild, temporary side effects, including:

• Headache: Paracetamol may be taken as required.
• Tenderness and Redness: These may occur at injection sites but usually resolve within hours.
• Bruising or Swelling: Minimize strenuous activities to reduce the risk of exacerbating bruising.

If you notice any unusual or concerning symptoms, such as excessive pain, significant swelling, or feeling unwell, contact the clinic immediately.

Follow-Up Care

• Review Appointments: Your initial results will develop over 2-8 days, with maximum effect seen at 2 weeks. A follow-up appointment at this time will allow your practitioner to assess the outcome.
• Subsequent Appointments: Follow-up is not usually required for future treatments unless a concern arises. 

What to Expect in the Coming Weeks

• Week 4: Maximal effect of your treatment.
• Week 8: Gradual return of muscle movement may begin.
• Week 12: Most patients experience around 50% movement return.
• Week 16: Movement is typically 80% back to normal.

Retreatment

For best results, retreatment is advised every 3-4 months, depending on individual needs and preferences.
